Greater Area Comfort Chamber of Commerce is hosting "Saturday in the
Park" on September 18th 2010!
Last Saturday of Summer Celebration. Lots
of music, dancing, vendors, huge raffle, tons of prizes. Part
of proceeds to go to area food banks. Everyone is invited to
join us at the park for a full day of fun and folic.

The Birth of Bending Branch
Estate Vineyard
 Our Vineyard Venture is coming together,
after much search and research, including many trips to Napa Valley,
especially, also Sonoma, Paso Robles, Temecula, the Yakima Valley of
Washington State, a multitude of local wineries, the Champagne
Region of France, Italy’s Tuscany and San Gimignano…lots of
tastings.
Bob, subsequently, began a year-long wine course, through The
Atlanta Wine School, at Persimmon Creek Vineyard and Winery, North
Georgia, under the tutelage of its dedicated Vigneron, Sonny
Hardman, MD, completing, simultaneously, a comprehensive Enology and
Viticulture course, through UC/Davis, toward Winemaker
Certification, with more to come.
Pivotal to the property search and development of the project, as
well, is John Rivenburgh, husband of our daughter Ali, Dad of their
Jackson. He and Bob, in a team effort, led in agri-expertise by
John, planted a Test Vineyard, in 2008, comprising nearly fifty
vines, in a plot on the three acres John and Ali own Northwest of
San Antonio. These vines, half Tannat and half Cabernet Sauvignon,
have been organically grown, with John’s nurturance, and are
thriving, the Tannat bearing tiny, beautiful grapes already.
John has a vision of many more vines and, fortunately for us all,
playing a leadership role in their management and cultivation into
fine wine. We are so pleased.
We are appreciative to friend Dick Holmberg of nearby Singing Water
Vineyards and Winery, too, for pointing us to the availability of
this property, as well to Chris and Elaine Havens, owners and
developers of the amazing Riven Rock Ranch , for selling us this
delightful cottage and acreage.
With John and Ali having a shared commitment to our cause, to make
it GREEN and Sustainable too, and John, with his great passion to be
integral to the journey, we have arrived here, precious grandson
Jackson and granddaughter Chloe too, at 142 Lindner Branch Trail, Comfort, Texas.
